AirAvant Bongo Rx EPAP Starter Kit

I received the Starter Kit quickly! The very first night I used the Bongo EPAP I slept all night. I’ve been using it for a month now and not only do I sleep better, I don’t need the head straps, and I wake up happy and ready to go!

I think it's helping? I have a deviated nasal septum, and over the years have been concerned I may have mild sleep apnea because of this. I saw the sleep specialist who hemmed and hawed and left the decision to do a sleep study up to me, since I have absolutely no daytime symptoms of sleep apnea. However, given my concerns, and wanting to do what I can to age well, I was able to get approved for this little gizmo. First off, I'm amazed it stays in my nostrils, and have not needed to use the head strap to hold it in place. I've had to adjust to the feeling that I am exhaling against pressure, i.e. if I'm breathing through my nose, when I exhale my body has to work a little harder to push air out. Occasionally I realize that at some point during the night I've been mouth breathing again, but they say that's to be expected. I do feel that my sleep has possibly improved, and less of a feeling that my nostril (i.e. due to deviated septum) is slamming shut just as I drop off to sleep. Alas, I still cannot sleep on my back, so will have to remain a side sleeper, hence the 4 star rating.
