What are resupply bundles?
Resupply bundles are packages of accessories used with PAP therapy, such as CPAP, APAP, or BiPAP machines. Resupply bundles may contain tubing, filters, a water chamber, connector pieces, cleaning supplies, or other accessories, like a muffler or humidifier. PAP therapy accessories generally need replacing on a regular basis, so keeping a resupply bundle on hand can ensure you are ready when it's time for you to replace one of your accessories.
Why should I replace my CPAP supplies?
According to CPAP machine manufacturers, regularly replacing your CPAP supplies will help you get the most out of your CPAP machine. When supplies are replaced on schedule, you can rest assured knowing that your machine is working as effectively as possible. Regularly replacing your supplies can also ensure the accessories you're using are sanitary and safe, as contamination and degradation of materials can happen over time when supplies aren't replaced.
How often should I replace my CPAP supplies?
CPAP manufacturers commonly recommend replacing mask cushions or pillows and machine filters every month, tubing every three months, and headgear, chin straps, and humidifier water chambers every six months. That said, different companies may have different recommendations. Check with your CPAP machine manufacturer to find out how often they suggest you replace your CPAP supplies. They likely list their recommendations on their website and in the materials that came with your CPAP machine.
Also, if you buy CPAP supplies using health insurance, check with your insurance provider to see how often they cover new supplies under your plan.
What supplies are included with a CPAP machine? What do I need to buy separately?
Carefully read the product description of a CPAP or other PAP machine before purchasing to be clear on what supplies are included, as they can vary. Most CPAP machines come with basic accessories, like a filter, tubing, and a humidifier water chamber. You generally need to purchase the face mask and head strap separately, unless you buy a CPAP machine bundle that includes these items. Filters should usually be replaced monthly, so if your machine only comes with one, you will want to buy replacements quickly.
How can I know if a CPAP supply is compatible with my CPAP device?
Carefully read the product descriptions of CPAP supplies or supply bundles to make sure they're compatible with your CPAP device before making a purchase. Not all CPAP accessories work with all CPAP machines, even when they are both made by the same brand. Often, the name of a CPAP accessory will identify which line of machines it works with, but not always.
