What are CPAP mask parts?

Most CPAP masks consist of individual components — such as a frame, cushion, and headgear — that can each be replaced without having to buy a new complete mask. Unlike complete masks, CPAP mask parts are available without a prescription.

How often should I replace my CPAP mask parts?

While the suggested replacement schedule varies between manufacturers and styles, most CPAP mask parts have similar lifespans:
-Silicone cushions and nasal pillows: one to three months
-Memory foam cushions: one month
-CPAP mask frames: six to twelve months
-CPAP headgear: six to twelve months

Are CPAP mask parts interchangeable?

Almost all CPAP mask parts only work with components that are part of the same mask system. However, there are some CPAP mask systems that allow you to switch between different cushion styles. It is important to double-check your user manual before purchasing mask parts so that you choose the components that will work with your mask.

Does insurance cover CPAP mask parts?

While policies vary, many insurance providers offer coverage for CPAP mask parts. Insurance providers usually only reimburse mask components bought according to their own replacement schedule, which may or may not be the same as the replacement schedule provided by your mask’s manufacturer. Although Sleep Doctor does not currently accept insurance payments, we provide paperwork you can submit to your provider for reimbursement.

How can I save money on CPAP mask parts?

Most CPAP mask parts qualify for Sleep Doctor’s Subscribe and Save program, which saves you 15% off the regular price when you have the components delivered every three, six, or twelve months. Along with saving you money, signing up for a mask part subscription is a great way of ensuring you follow the recommended replacement schedule.
