The ResMed AirFit N30i has a low-profile and minimally invasive design that prevents movement restriction and obstructed vision. Under-the-nose cushioning prevents marks and irritation on the nose bridge, which some CPAP users experience with traditional full-face masks. Top-of-head tubing also allows sleepers to use any position and switch between them easily.

Nasal CPAP masks seal against the user’s skin and direct air through their nose, leaving their mouth free. Nasal pillows are a similar CPAP mask style that create a seal by inflating inside the user’s nostrils. 

The combination of a top-of-the-head hose connection and a low-profile cushion makes the AirFit N30i an appealing choice for active sleepers, stomach sleepers, and side sleepers. People who find ordinary nasal CPAP masks claustrophobic will also like this mask for its streamlined design and clear field of vision. 

The ResMed AirFit N30i is a nasal mask and is unsuitable for people who breathe through their mouth while they sleep. Nasal masks, particularly low-profile nasal masks, can also be uncomfortable for people with a high air pressure prescription. 

The ResMed AirFit N30i Nasal Mask uses replaceable cushions that have an expected lifespan of around six months. Worn cushions may have to be replaced sooner if they begin to leak or become damaged. 

You can use ResMed’s AirFit N30i size template to help you choose among the small, small wide, and medium cushions included in this starter pack.  The frame is available in standard and small sizes.

Most CPAP masks, including the AirFit N30i, can be used with the vast majority of PAP machines because they use a standard 22-millimeter hose connection. The AirFit N30i is not compatible with CPAP machines that use a specialty connection, such as the ResMed AirMini.
