A CPAP pillow is designed with special features that complement CPAP therapy. These include cutouts on the sides where your connective tubing can rest without compromising its connection to your face mask, and straps to hold the tubing in place while you sleep. Many CPAP pillows also have a thick profile to elevate the head and keep your airway open, which can help reduce snoring.

Yes, some people who use CPAP therapy say they sleep more comfortably with a CPAP pillow than a standard pillow. However, other sleepers say they have noticed little difference and don't mind sleeping on a standard pillow while receiving CPAP.

No, CPAP pillows are not considered a sleep apnea treatment. CPAP pillows can help ensure comfortable sleep while you receive CPAP therapy, and some can cut down on snoring, but a pillow alone won't treat your sleep apnea symptoms.

The best CPAP pillow varies from sleeper to sleeper. Some prefer pillows designed specifically for CPAP therapy with side cutouts and straps to accommodate their tubing and a thicker profile to help reduce snoring. Others are able to sleep comfortably during CPAP therapy with a standard, non-specialty pillow. We encourage you to try both options and see what works best for you. Your doctor may also be able to provide helpful recommendations.
