AirSense™ 11 Basics Bundle with Full Face Mask

Full face masks seal around both your nose and mouth, which ensures that you receive the correct air pressure even with your mouth open. Traditional full face masks span from the bridge of your nose to your chin, while some newer designs have a smaller footprint.

The AirFit F20’s traditional full face design appeals to people who breathe through their mouth, as well as people with high air pressure prescriptions. Unlike many CPAP masks, it is also a good choice for people with facial hair. 

The AirFit F20 uses magnetic clips that can interfere with some metallic medical devices and implants, so you should choose a different CPAP mask if you or your partner has one of these devices. The AirFit F20 is also less suitable than lower-profile full face masks for people who experience claustrophobia. 

The AirFit F20’s silicone cushions are replaceable. Most people replace their cushion every six months, although it should be replaced sooner if it starts to leak, or if it begins to show signs of wear or damage

ResMed provides a sizing guide for the AirFit F20 that can help you choose the right option. It is important to double-check that the document is to scale when printing, as not doing so can cause you to choose the wrong size.

The AirFit F20 can be used with PAP machines that have a standard 22-millimeter hose connection. Unlike many other masks, the AirFit F20 can also be used with the ResMed AirMini travel CPAP machine, though it requires a special elbow adapter manufactured by ResMed. 

1. Access the home screen on the machine and select "My Options."
2. Select "Climate Ctrl."
3. Change the setting from "Auto" (default) to "Manual."
4. Select "Humidity Level" and adjust to your liking. You can choose a level of 1 to 8, with 4 as the default setting.
5. If you use the ClimateLineAir heated tubing, select "Tube Temp" and adjust the temperature to your liking. You can choose a temperature of 60 to 86 degrees, with 81 degrees as the default setting.

To disassemble your ResMed AirSense 11 Autoset for cleaning, follow these steps:

1. Unplug the device and wait 10 minutes for the humidifier's heater plate and water to cool.
2. Remove the humidifier and empty the remaining water, disconnect the tubing from the mask, and remove the outlet connector from the machine.
3. Disassemble the mask to separate the cushion(s), headgear, and frame.

Follow these steps for cleaning your humidifier and mask cushion on a daily basis:

1. Wipe down the interior of the humidifier tub with a disposable cloth. Let the humidifier tub dry away from direct sunlight. Once the tub is completely dry, refill with distilled water.
2. Wash the cushion(s) in warm water with mild liquid detergent. Rinse with warm, drinking-quality water, then place it on a towel to dry away from direct sunlight.

Follow these steps for weekly cleaning:

1. Soak the humidifier tub in warm water with mild dishwashing liquid or a cleaning solution with a ratio of 1 part water and 9 parts vinegar.
2. Wash the humidifier tub, connective hose, mask frame, and outlet connector with mild dishwashing liquid in warm water. Rinse each item thoroughly in clean water.
3. Dry the components on a towel away from direct sunlight. 
4. Wipe the CPAP machine with a dry cloth to remove dust and debris.
5. Make sure all components are completely dry before reassembling.

To replace your device's filter, open the filter door on the back of your machine at the bottom right-hand side and remove the current filter. You may insert the new filter – if the filter is compatible with the device, it should easily fit into the slot – and snap the filter door shut. 

Note: you should not adjust the pressure to any level that does not match your CPAP prescription. Talk to your doctor if you aren't happy with your current pressure settings.

To adjust the pressure of the ResMed AirSense 11, access the clinical menu on the device's screen by simultaneously pressing the home button and the button on the dial. If the device is in "AutoSet" mode, you can separately adjust your levels for inhalation and exhalation. If the device is in "CPAP" mode, you'll only need to adjust the machine's single, fixed pressure setting.

To turn off the ResMed AirSense 11 while it is running, tap the "Start/Stop" button on the top of the machine. If the SmartStop function is enabled, you can also end your CPAP therapy by removing your face mask.

To use the ResMed AirSense, first make sure your hose is securely connected to the CPAP machine at one end and your face mask at the other. Use the touchscreen to customize your ramp time, humidity, and other settings. If the device is plugged into an outlet, you can turn it on manually or – if SmartStop is enabled – turn it on by placing the mask over your face.
